The objective – Creating Bpifrance’s centralized hub of offers and services for its partners
Bpifrance partnered with ekino to simplify and digitize its portfolio of offers and services for its partner ecosystem. This newly launched, secure digital platform enables partners to subscribe to services, manage contracts, and access tailored content. Through this initiative, Bpifrance aims to strengthen its relationships and unlock new business opportunities across banking networks, business support organizations, and regional institutions that serve French companies daily.

The challenge – Aligning all business units around a groundbreaking project
The core challenge was to rally six distinct business lines and some fifty Bpifrance stakeholders around a major digital overhaul. This transformation required new ways of working, from designing and progressively deploying user journeys to anticipating evolving day-to-day practices, while also rearchitecting a fragmented and suboptimal digital ecosystem.
Our solution – Pedagogy and co-creation
Given the scale of the initiative, strong communication was key. Design teams and Product Owners worked closely with business units and key external partners—future users of the platform—to ensure buy-in through co-creation. Regular user testing and shared insights helped build ownership and momentum both internally and externally.
From a technical standpoint, the solution is based on a microservices architecture, inspired by Bpifrance’s existing online banking model for end customers. The back-end was developed in Java with Spring Boot, the front-end using Angular, and inter-service flows were orchestrated through Kafka following an event-driven approach.
Close coordination between the Product, Design, and Tech teams was crucial. Agile development was conducted in sprints with regular demos, enabling incremental delivery of high-value features. Delivery quality was ensured through rigorous monitoring of DORA metrics (deployment frequency, change failure rate, and mean time to resolution).
