New product development
The business opportunity
After supporting Nexity for 2 years on the B2B tools development for employees, the real estate specialist Group entrusted us with their smart home project.
In order to offer a premium offer to its customers, and to stand out from the competition, Nexity wanted to develop a new service by relying on the expertise of ekino teams, in consulting, design, technology and innovation.
Also addressing a market demand, the Eugénie project allows the real estate group to take its first steps in the Smart City field.
Through a collaborative creation approach, we conducted several workshops with Nexity's teams to better understand the needs and challenges of the real estate business, both in the functional and design areas.
We have co-created a mobile app that allows users to use connected devices simply, as well as to facilitate communication between residents and co-owners. The application also provides a service announcements feature for residents and city news which allows to animate a neighborhood life in addition to home automation.
Throughout the process, we have supported Nexity's teams on several levers:
- Benchmark of usage trends
- Elaboration of personae
- Feature definition and prioritisation
- Co-design workshops with the Nexity project team
- Work in collaboration with the technical team to find common solutions
- Design of the wireframes according to the personae (pains, needs and levers)
- Design of UI screens & graphics
An ekino team composed of consultants, engineers, and designers worked on multiple collaborative workshops to gather business requirements.
Our consultants worked hand-in-hand with our designers and engineers to provide realistic solutions that met Nexity's business needs and challenges as well as user expectations.
We built a relationship of trust through our collaboration with Nexity's teams, which allowed us to make targeted recommendations on technology, ergonomics and the overall experience.
At the launch of the application, nearly ten new Nexity residences were able to benefit from the Eugénie service with more than 150 connected homes. To date, Nexity is continuing to roll out its connected residence offering across France with the Eugénie application.
Eugenie won the Innovative Service and User Experience Award from the IoT Business Hub in 2019.
